                                                                                                       Outdoor Range Rules

1. Ring the bell 5 times and wait 5 minutes before shooting to allow others in the area to move to safety.
2. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be consumed prior to or during use of the shooting ranges.
3. Only one (1) guest per member. Everybody must sign in on the range log.
4. Eye and ear protection must be worn by all shooters and spectators.
5. Firearms must meet all New York State and Federal regulations.
6. No one person shall have more than two (2) firearms in the shooting booth.
7. All firearms when not in use shall be unloaded, slides locked back, bolts or cylinders opened with empty chamber indicators (ECI) in place and magazines out. No one is allowed downrange until these actions are taken and the range is declared safe.
8. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RAPID FIRING ALLOWED ON THIS RANGE, there is to be a mandatory delay (defined as: the time it takes to re-acquire the target at which you are shooting between fired rounds.)
9. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer rounds may be used on the range.
10. No targets identifiable as a human or with human characteristics are allowed.
11. All steel targets may be shot by pistol calibers at a minimum of 10 yards, rifle at a minimum of 50 yards. Use steel targets of appropriate gauge for your caliber.
12. All target stands must be moved to the left side of the range when not in use.
13. No motor vehicles are allowed beyond the firing line.
14. Shoot only from your assigned station on the firing line, and shoot only in your assigned lane. Firing across your assigned lane (cross-firing) is strictly prohibited.
15. No shooter 18 or younger may use the range facilities without adult supervision.
16. All pets should be on a leash or secured while shooting range is active. You must clean up after your pets.
17. This is a “carry-in/carry-out” facility. You bring it in, you take it out. This includes used targets, cartridge boxes, and garbage (including cigarette butts.) Unfired live rounds should be placed in the RED bucket. Spent casings should be placed in the white bucket.

Failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion from the club.
Safety is no accident! It is a good idea to put one of the participating shooters in charge of the firing line.
In the case of an accident, dial 9-1-1 and report an “accident at the range”…
NOT "There's been a shooting".
